Diogo Sousa Batista is the founder of Madre Law Firm, leading the team with strategic vision and contagious energy. With over 24 years of experience, he specializes in Corporate and Commercial Law, Real Estate, Restructuring, and Litigation. His focus? Helping clients grow their businesses and solve challenges with creativity and security.

A graduate of Universidade Católica Portuguesa do Porto, he complemented his education with postgraduate studies and certifications in management, tax law, and finance, both in Portugal and the USA. He completed a postgraduate degree in Management for Lawyers, in addition to other relevant courses and certifications, such as International Legal Training in New York, the Accounting and Finance for Non-Financial Professionals Course at the Bar Association, and the Advanced Course in Corporate Tax Management, promoted by the Portuguese Business Association (AEP).

With a restless and curious mind, he found in Law a way to better understand the world and contribute to a more organized and balanced society. He was a founding partner of the law firm Pereira Branco, Sousa Batista & Associados and a partner at Raposo Subtil & Associados, where he was responsible for managing the Porto and Ponta Delgada offices.

Such a diverse career obviously has its highlights. Diogo Sousa Batista is one of the faces behind one of the most important tourism developments emerging in the Azores, the Água de Fogo project, which involves an investment of 150 million euros. The conversion of a property into the Hospital da Boa Nova, a deal exceeding 12 million euros, benefited from his advice, as did the process of Invictus, one of the largest national companies for real estate promotion, buying, and selling under the Fix & Flip model.

Outside the office, he is a proud father of three children, a gastronomy enthusiast, a nature lover, and a host for pilgrims on the Camino de Santiago. If he weren't practicing law, he would probably be leading a real estate project or investing in innovation. But you might also find him enjoying a good game of padel or around competitive board games.

His professional mission can be summarized in one sentence: to create a path of peace and security for the interests entrusted to him.
