She could have been a communication professional, but she ultimately listened to the voice of maternal wisdom and was won over by Law. Joana Folhadela Marques has over 25 years of experience in law, and has been part of the Madre Law Firm team since July 2018, with a solid and multifaceted background in Corporate Law, M&A, Corporate Governance, and Compliance.

A Law graduate from the Universidade Católica do Porto, she brings a strategic and structured perspective to every legal challenge, combining technical rigor with a practical and organized approach. She attended intensive English and Spanish courses, already accumulating extensive experience.

She served as a senior lawyer in the Legal Services and Compliance Department of the insurance company Lusitania, as Office Manager at Barata & Ramilo (Parfois), SA, and as Secretary-General and Advisor to the Board of the SLN Group. It was here that she faced one of her most exciting professional challenges, joining the Executive Committee staff, with whom she participated in the simultaneous capital increase and sale of own shares, followed by the presentation and initiation of the group's Restructuring and Valorization Plan.

Her passion for law lies in the ability to create solutions, help companies grow, and structure processes efficiently. She prefers to be at the forefront of organization and planning, contributing to innovative projects and restructuring processes, always ensuring close and dedicated client support. She is in this profession to execute and truly make things happen, using her knowledge, instinct, and adaptability to circumstances and people.

Outside the legal world, Joana Folhadela Marques is also passionate about animals and travel, coupled with a curious spirit and a keen sense of humor. She asserts that she was not born to lead, but to execute, making her a fundamental part of our team's dynamic.
